Postal vs Post Consulation (Exit) Questionnaire

The Post Consultation version of GPAQ V2 is easier to monitor and generally has a higher completion rate, the survey could usually be completed over a shorter time period, and offers the option for individual reports, useful for appraisals.

The Postal survey is probably less intrusive, asks questions about the practice nurse(s), however needs envelopes, postage and reminders added to the cost.

There is a version of GPAQ V2 specifically for nurses, available to download from the GPAQ website.

Advantages of Group Surveys

There are considerable advantages for practices co-ordinating surveys and sending them to us for analysis in one batch.

Firstly we can produce a set of current, local benchmarks across the Group; and

Secondly the single batch means we can offer a substantial discount to each practice.

What Next after the Survey?

Manchester and Exeter Universities have produced a useful booklet "Improving your practice with Patient Surveys" to help GPs and their staff use patient surveys to develop their practices. . This is available to download from the GPAQ website.
