2009/10

The system for patient surveys has changed from 1st April 2009.
Practice based surveys are no longer required for QOF.
They have been replaced by a national postal survey, organised centrally.

This is outlined in “GMS contract 2009-10 - Letter from Dr Laurence Buckman, GPC Chairman”

If you have any questions, please contact your PCT/Health Board,
and if you should wish to carry out a GPAQ survey for appraisals or revalidation,
please read on and contact us, we shall be pleased to help.

CMI Publishing Ltd are pleased to offer an analysis and reporting service for the GPAQ (and formerly GPAS) patient satisfaction surveys.

GPAQ is a patient questionnaire, originally developed as a research tool at the National Primary Care Research and Development Centre (NPCRDC) Manchester University, and subsequently modified for the 2004 GP contract. Data from the survey is used (anonymously) by the NPCRDC to produce national benchmarks, and for some of their research.

We at CMI are licensed by Manchester University to offer an analysis and reporting service. We receive a great deal of background, information and support from Manchester which is reflected in the repports we produce for you. We use the statistics programme SPSS to analyse the GPAQ data. We have many years' experience analysing firstly GPAS, and now the new GPAQ surveys. Our reports are detailed, individual reports.

We can also summarise the 'Comments' section of the questionnaire. Please ask us if you need this service. Summarising 'Comments' is not currently covered in our usual costings.

A version of GPAQ is available specifically for nurses, and we also offer an analysis service for this.

Questionnaires for all surveys are avalaible from http://www.npcrdc.ac.uk/GPAQ__a_patient_questionnaire_for_general_practice_.htm downloads page.

We at CMI have produced a POSTER for your surgery which you can print and use.
If you have problems contacting us at this e-mail address, please e-mail us at gpaq@hotmail.co.uk.

Analysis is available on request for additional questions, and also for the older, expanded, GPAS version of the questionnaire.
